Scomber japonicus

It is a gregarious fish that makes long migrations. It forms large schools, especially when found in coastal areas. We normally find it in surface waters, but if it feels threatened it can dive up to 300 m. deep.

It is often confused with Atlantic mackerel.

Cabalon

It is usually fished with nets, lines, volateros and surface trolling.

Since its meat is of lower quality than that of Atlantic Mackerel, it is usually used as bait.
