Northern shortfin squid
The northern shortfin squid is a mollusk with a narrow and elongated body on the sides of which there are two fleshy triangular-shaped fins, in the front part it has two highly evolved eyes, and eight tentacles that have four rows of suction cups at the ends.
The common squid is light pink in color with small reddish and bluish spots, which helps it blend in very well in the sea.
Its diet is clearly carnivorous, consisting of pelagic fish, crustaceans and invertebrates.
It lives in waters of the Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea and Pacific Ocean, from almost surface waters to 800 m. deep.
