Octopus vulgaris
Octopus
The octopus is a cephalopod mollusk with a balloon shape, a voluminous head and 8 tentacles equipped with two rows of suction cups that can regenerate if they are amputated. Under the tentacles is a beak-shaped mouth. It is usually brown in color, but it has the ability to change its color and the texture of its body to blend in with the environment.
Their diet is based mainly on crustaceans, especially lobsters and crabs, small fish and mollusks, mainly at night. It is a very active predator.
Found in surface waters up to 100 meters deep, the common octopus can reach a wingspan of one meter.
